I got a good laugh from this!

HootSuite Apps, making social media even easier

Earlier this month HootSuite introduced their first round of apps. I’ve already installed mine! These are going to make social media even easier for all of busy entrepreneurs.

With this round they have introduced YouTube, flickr, tumblr, and Get Satisfaction. Now you can manage these social accounts from within HootSuite. Ahhh, I feel a bit of relief already. Now you can log into one place and check for updates and reply to your friends and audience.

So let’s check out YouTube. I recommend you add a tab inside Hootsuite specifically for YouTube I actually setup a tab for each different account for my clients. This makes managing the accounts much easier and the load time for your computer is faster as well. Once you’ve added the tab you’ll have to connect your YouTube account. You have 3 items you can connect, Your Videos, Search and Your Subscriptions. I have connected all 3. The Your Videos stream will allow you monitor comments on your videos and comment back right there. Your Subscriptions will allow you to see all new videos added from channels that you are subscribed to. Then Search of course lets you search YouTube right inside your HootSuite account. I think is really niffty. I can search and comments on videos right from my hub! OMGosh, I’ve already saved oodles of time!

The process is very similar for Flickr. Once you have connected your account you can add a Connections, Search and My Photos streams that work just like YouTube. Uploading has never been easier.

I’m excited to see SlideShare and Posterous apps, which are in the line up! Also coming soon are:

  • Disqus
  • Chatter
  • Constant Contact
  • Summify

How much time will these features save you? Do you use HootSuite?

New Facebook Share Features

Have you seen the new Facebook share features? I think its nice having them right there for every post. What’s your thoughts?

Creating Autoresponders for Your Business

With busy lives and awesome businesses we are all really busy! One great resource for online businesses are autoresponders, not to be abused but non the less they are useful.

First, what is an autoresponder?
A sequence of pre-written messages that you schedule to be automatically broadcasted to your subscriber.

Why use an autoresponder?

  • To offer a freebie series
  • To maintain a relationship after someone purchased a product
  • To answer common questions
  • To offer case studies
  • There are so many ways you can use them!

Don’t have an autoresponder? The two that I like are Aweber and 1ShoppingCart. If you are looking for a shoppingcart to accompany your newsletters/autoresponders then I recommend 1ShoppingCart.

If you do have an autoresponder service provider here are a few ideas you can work on this week to improve your relationship with new subscribers:

After a purchase is made schedule a message to go out about a week later. In this message go through a detail of your product, engage your new customer, get them to consume your product.

Or after they sign up for your newsletter maybe have an announced bonus go out a week later. Something of true value that your reader can really benefit from. Over exceed expectations and your readers will always engage you!

What other great ideas do you use for your autoresponders?

How to Find New Twitter Followers on Goggle

I’m always watching social media videos, I mean what better thing to do when I have 5 free minutes right? HA! I learned a really neat trick with Google search that I just have to share. These are two easy ways to use Google search to find targeted Twitter followers.

The 1st search term is:
intitle:”entrepreneur* on twitter” site:twitter.com

This search will show results based on the users title (user name or real name). So with your search simply replace entrepreneur with your key term.

The 2nd search term is:
intext:”bio * entrepreneur” site:twitter.com

The search will show results based on the users bio text.

The results of these searches will be different so be sure to do both searches. And don’t just do this once. There are new people and businesses joining Twitter all the time.

Do you have specialized Google search terms you use? Please share them with us below in the comments, I love new Google searches! :)

Have a wonderful week, if you have any questions be sure to catch me over on Facebook.
